The series debuted in 1991 with the video game, Sonic the Hedgehog, released for the Mega Drive video game console (named Sega Genesis in North America). It is published by Sega, with entries developed by Sega, Sonic Team, Dimps, SIMS Co., Ltd., BioWare, and Sumo Digital. After defeating the boss, Sonic receives the Chaos Emerald.Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game series. When collecting 100 rings, the player gains an extra life. Before the battle with the villain, the character rolls along an inclined surface, where you need to collect rings, dodging obstacles. On the last zone of the level, there is a battle with the boss. There is a limited time to complete the zone, which can be increased by collecting keys. There may be glowing icons on the levels, when collected, you can get invulnerability, extra life, and more. If the character is attacked by the enemy, then he loses the keys, and if he did not have them, then life or time is lost. After the player has collected all the keys, he must enter the door on the level with the inscription "Goal" to complete the passage of the location. There are three keys scattered across the levels.
